yes let's!

Teaching drama this evening

the kids were playing Yes Let's

(I call someone's name, she says the first thing that pops into her head 

and everyone yells Yes Let's)

So fun.

"Let's be cats having a fight"

"Let's be angry math teachers"

"Let's all pretend that we're going crazy in the candy store"

And maybe its because he's the youngest one in the class,

maybe its because he has this fantastically red hair on his head and is still so tiny

that it makes me want to put him in my pocket and take him home,

or maybe it was because all of the 10yr old girls in the room stopped dead in their tracks, 

but when Kevin called out (in the most EXCITED voice ever)

"Let's all be people who have just discovered that spider poison is also people poison"

And then instantly fell down dead

It. Made. My. Night.

Love my job.

Love that kid.

Love the creativity and joy that surrounds me when I remember to open my heart and let it in.
